Everything But Imaginary #335: The Best of 2009

The new year has begun, friends, but before we put 2009 to bed, let’s look at some of the best in comics of the year. It’s time for my annual look at my personal favorites in comics, TV, movies, and prose novels in this week’s Everything But Imaginary!

2 in 1 Showcase Episode 151: 2009-The Year in Review

Your good buddy Chase is back for the first of two very special episodes! This week, Chase and Blake announce the winners of the Best of 2009 as voted on by you, the Showcase listener! Then, as this extra-length episode continues, the guys delve into all the big comic book news of 2009. Disney buys Marvel! DC Entertainment! Archie marries Veronica… kinda! And Diamond‘s new rules change the game entirely. If it’s happening in the world of comics, the boys talk about it. In the picks this week, Chase loves The Complete Rocketeer, and Blake gives us The Tick New Series #1! Contact us with comments, suggestions, or anything else at Showcase@comixtreme.com!

Everything But Imaginary #316: Somebody’s Favorite

One thing I’ve learned in my years of columns, reviews, and podcasts. Every single comic book character — no matter how obscure, how poorly-written, or how outright goofy — is the favorite character of SOME fan. And boy, will they let you know.

Bless Me, Father news, Marvel reviews!

Well friends, for those of you who have been waiting in breathless anticipation for news about the play I’m directing, as of tonight we have officially rescheduled the Thibodaux Playhouse production of Bless Me, Father. The wacky comedy will be performed on Oct. 17, 28, 23, 24, 25 and 26. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m., except for the Sunday matinee on Oct. 26. Please keep watching the Playhouse’s website, ThibodauxPlayhouse.org, for more information.

Comic reviews?

Okay, how about a little geek stuff? Here are my reviews of eight new comics being released tomorrow, Sept. 17, by Marvel Comics, plus last weekend’s Done-In-One reviews!
