And now, as Erin did on her blog yesterday, I’m going to partake in my annual tradition of listing everything I read over the year. This list includes books, short stories (in quotation marks) and graphic novels (marked with an asterisk), and also includes books I re-read this year, not just first-timers. Looking over the list, I’ve decided that I need to read more in 2009. This isn’t a resolution, per se (if you don’t make resolutions you can’t feel bad about failing to accomplish them) but I used to get a lot more reading done.

Hi, Blake! Thanks for posting this awesome list — lots of great recommendations here — and thanks for checking out my 7th Son podcast novel trilogy. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the series. Thanks so much, and may all the books you read in 2009 be awesome!
I’ve got the first two already in the works — re-reading Orson Scott Card’s wonderful Speaker For the Dead and reading (for the first time) Michael Davis’s really good Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street.
I’m looking forward to having more of your work up there in the 2009 list! Personal Effects is already on my Amazon wish list, and I eagerly await the print edition of Descent. Happy New Year, man!
