Other People’s Heroes: Issue Thirteen (Evercast #32)

Josh Corwood’s life is looking up. He’s got his own character, Annie has dumped the illustrious Dr. Noble, and he’s about to go on his first solo campaign against his old buddy Hotshot. But what happens when the adventure ends?

Sorry for the delay in this week’s episode, friends, but I’ve been slowed a bit due to my work on the latest production down at the Thibodaux Playhouse. Should you happen to be in the Houma/Thibodaux, Louisiana area, come by next week to catch us in All the Great Books (Abridged)!

So I had a chance to listen to this just the other day. And I have to say this is perhaps one of my favorite transitions in the book. What I think you’ve done a great job of here is revealing to the audience that there’s a story within the story.

For the first half of the book we (the audience) are really only thinking that this is a “coming of age” story about a guy living his dream of being a superhero, with a bit of romance thrown in. That alone is a compelling story. But now, we’re starting to notice that maybe, just maybe, something else is happening too.

It’s like getting two books for the price of one. 🙂

Thanks so much, Eric — that’s EXACTLY what I was going for.

Sorry there was no chapter last week, I hope you guys all understand. There will be one this week, but it’ll probably be tomorrow instead of today. I’ve got a play tonight and no time to edit the show, but tomorrow I’m off (thank you, fall break) so I’ll be able to get it into your hot little hands.
